| Bill Perry opened for the Governor at the Holly Ridge Blues sign ceremonies. Bill is a songwriter, guitarist, and educator. Bill is a favorite at Ground Zero in Clarksdale, MS and is pictured here with B.B. King when Bill worked with B.B. at the B.B. King music workshop at Mississippi Valley State University. Bill Perry is from Abbeville, Mississippi, and has been playing the blues for over thirty years. His musical career has taken him all over the U.S. and overseas. . His show is built on lots of high-energy blues based classics and originals. As a young man he received his blues training from legends like Sonny Thompson (who wrote many of Freddy King hits). Interesting facts about Bill Perry's life. His father was a Moonshiner, his ancestors were slaves. Bill grew up picking cotton and going to school in a one room school house where his grandparents had attended. He was fascinated by seeing his first electric light bulb in his home at the age of five. Until then he only understood about coal oil lamps. His curiosity caused him to stick his finger in the socket and get knocked off his front porch! Maybe that is why he is Howl-N-Madd? EPK go to www.bandvillage.com/billperry |
